By now traditionally I make a set of photos of the full inventory of the kit
- just for the fun of it,
- to acquaintaince myself with the kit,
- to check if the kit is complete and
- to share the contents of the kit with you to encourage you to pick up kit building if you haven't done so yet.

The box was by and large in good shape with little shelf wear. Unfortunately the original price tag is indecipherable. I payed €225, which I guess to be about the original price. As it is increasingly hard to find unstarted kits I'm happy with the deal. |
The opened box with its simple instruction set |
The boiler was an excellent casting with crisp detail |
The footplate, though basically very well done, will need some work. |
The stained etch work shows the age of the kit |
Frames |
The coupling rods are split in two sections, as per the prototype, giving the option of springing the loco. |
According to Dutch railroaders fora the NS3300 is a notorious bad runner.
Advice: swap the motor and the gearbox for something decent. As the wheels are good old pizzacutters I might swap those as well. |
Various white metal castings. Some of them like the head lamps will be replaced by Philotrain lost wax brass castings. |
The driver cab (left) with the characteric heart-shaped front windows |
And finally the brass jewellery
My first inmpression is that the kit won't be too difficult. After all I already built an AD60 and this loco has no outside valve gear. |
